ON A TEAM, EVERY MEMBER IS IMPORTANT
Everyone has to work together to get it done.
Everyone has to work together to get it done.
Like any team, a show choir is a collective of members, each making their own contribution to the final product. Some members will be more experienced then others. Some will be confident, others shy. Some will be playful, others serious. The point is, in a large group there are always many different ability levels and many different personality types. This diversity is what makes a group interesting. Here are some of the guidelines we would like all members to follow when participating in our show choirs.
• All members should arrive for rehearsal on time and well prepared.
• Members should give their coaches their full attention and cooperation during rehearsals.
• All members should strive to encourage and praise other member's efforts.
• Members should never ridicule or talk negatively to or about another member.
• Members with stronger skills should take the opportunity to assist in helping weaker members improve.
A diverse team with lots of supportive members always produces great results. Our coaches have the experience to assign singing and dancing parts to members with appropriate skill levels. It is the job of the members to support each other in the process of learning some new skills and enjoying the experience of singing in a pop show choir.

THE PERFORMING SHOW CHOIR POLICIES
REGISTRATION AND WITHDRAWING
To join one of our Show Choirs, a student must register and pay in full for the session (you may click here to register online). We will accept new members to a choir up until three weeks into a session or until the choir reaches the maximum of 22 members. After the third week of rehearsals, no new students will be added to a choir. A registered member may withdraw before the first rehearsal and receive a full refund. Once the session begins, withdrawals will no longer be permitted except in the following circumstance. If in the first 3 weeks of the session we have a student on our waiting list willing to take your place, we will allow them to do so letting you withdraw for a refund.
MISSED REHEARSALS
If you miss a rehearsal you will not be eligible for any type of credit, make up or refund. If you miss 3 rehearsals, consecutive or otherwise our coaches will at their discretion decide if you should be suspended from the choir for the remainder of the session. Such a decision will be based on whether they believe that given your absences you have the ability to perform your part in the production numbers or not. In the event they decide to suspend you, we will give you a store credit (NOT A REFUND) for the remaining weeks of the session to be used as an in store credit for either future education programs or store merchandise. In the event of a medical circumstance that prevents you from participating, we require a doctors note to validate your claim. In such an event, we will give you a store credit (NOT A REFUND) to be used for either future education programs of store merchandise.
INAPPROPRIATE CONDUCT
A show choir is largely dependent on supportive team work. In a group of up to 22 members, disruptive or inappropriate conduct by a single member can significantly diminish the enjoyment and productivity level of the other members. As well, with a short 15 week period to prepare 2-3 songs complete with dance routines, just a few weeks of unproductive rehearsals because of one person's bad behavior could be very detrimental. As such, if any member is deemed to be acting inappropriately or disruptively such that they are hindering the groups ability to effectively progress they may be suspended for the remainder of the session. Every effort will be made to help the student correct their behavior and to understand what the problem was before taking the final step of suspension. It is our goal to avoid any suspensions and to help students improve their ability to work supportively in a group setting. However, in the case of a suspension the student will be given a store credit (NOT A REFUND) to be used for future education programs or store merchandise. If a person happens to be suspended a second time from one of our show choirs, they will not be allowed to join any future show choirs within our school.

I have been a student of KAOS since 2004, and am impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff working there. I find that they are always innovative with their teaching methods, integrating the computers within the class room, and also with their informative webinars. They are always changing things up, with renovations and with their great sales promotions. Kudos to KAOS.
