So, just a week ago we received an Ebony version of this Alex Lifeson Limited Edition Axcess Les Paul. In the ebony colour there were only 5 units shipped into Canada and we got one but it didn't last long. Two days to be exact. With that gone we felt a bit let down that we didn't get more time to enjoy it so I tried to order another. No more ebony ones but they did have a few of the Viceroy Brown versions left. It is the same except for the figured maple top (which the ebony didn't have). While the ebony was super nice and very very limited, this burst is pretty hard not to love. Anticipating that it won't last for long, we immediately made a
Gear Review video and packed it back up. This is a really special instrument and something that any Rush fan would love to see. Drop by to see it in person, you won't be sorry. Full specs and information can be found on the

Just in, a new batch of colours on an old model .. The Gibson Les Paul Jr has been kicking butt since 1954. Like the original this Jr is made from choice mahogany and outfitted with the classic P90. The bridge is a lightning bar wraparound tailpiece with a raised compensated bridge. In Canada, the only 2 colours that will be available (without special ordering) will be TV Yellow (pictured) and Tobacco Burst. Aside from looking cool, this guitar has incredible tone. Albeit not overly flexible, players might really love to add this to their collection given its very modest under $800 price tag. Drop in to check this one out, you may love it!

G & L is on fire these days. Not a guitar comes in from the folks in California that we do not unconditionally love. This latest ASAT Classic Blues Boy is no exception. Finished in butterscotch blonde with a tinted maple neck and locking tuners, this is just one more example of how exquisite these instruments are. The Blues Boy model has a chambered body and a Seth Lover pickup in the neck position which delivers a uniquely beefy tone for a tele type guitar.

After only a few days in our store, the first of only 5 (in Canada) Ebony Gibson Les Paul Axcess, Alex Lifeson models was sold. While that certainly makes us happy, we were strangely disappointed that we only got to live with such a cool guitar for such a short period of time. On a whim, I decided to check with Gibson to see if they had any more of the Ebony models. Unfortunately, the answer was no but they did have a few of the, also very limited Viceroy Brown version at the same price. So .. I jumped on it and placed the order. This model should arrive in the next few days. Watch for an announcement. Did I mention how cool this guitar was??

Not unlike his guitar playing, Alex Lifeson has taken a very traditional guitar and turned it on its head creating a new class of Les Paul. Built from all of the same traditional tonewoods, this Axcess model sports two Gibson high output humbuckers with series/paralell wiring options and push-pull volume controls. The Floyd Rose bridge is also wired with a GraphTech Ghost Piezo bridge saddle pick up. So, with an exponentially more tone options then a regular Les Paul, this model is not only unique and collectable, it's really cool. The Axcess model is a limited edition but the Ebony model is really really limited with only 5 units being sold in Canada. One of those guitars is in our store for the time being. Don't miss your chance to see one of the coolest Les Paul's ever made.

In the beginning, there were a number of versions of this renowned guitar. There was an SG Standard, an SG Junior and the SG Special with P90's. In the late 60's and early 70's Pete Townshend made the SG Special one of his guitars of choice while rocking out some of the loudest music of its time. The Who obviously went onto to greatness in the world of rock as did the SG. Made of solid mahogany and finished in Alpine white with a nitrocellulose finish for tons of tone and a comfortable light weight. It's neck is uniquely cut based on Townshend original preferences. Looks awesome, plays great and sounds incredible and there are only 600 of them in the world.

We're on a good roll with G & L. This gem just arrived and is as nice to play as it is to look at. This Legacy is finished in 2 tone sunburst with a tortoise shell pick guard. The neck is not oiled but has a nice vintage look to it. We've also equipped this one with locking tuners, an upgrade that we don't charge extra for but substantially improves the guitars performance. Our recent G & L arrivals have been selling quickly so drop in soon to check this one out before it finds a new home.

Another incredible limited edition guitar from our friends at Gibson. The new Limited edition ES-335 takes the legendary ES-335 and adds Zebra Coil Burstbucker I & II pickups each with built in coil taps and push/pull volume pots. Finished in an awesome vintage sunburst. There will only be 200 of these guitars made for the entire globe. We've got one and it really is great. Come on in to check it out while it is still here.

Ah, it's a classic. The G & L Legacy finished in vintage white customized with a creme pick guard and knobs as well as locking tuners. Judging by the staff reaction to this one, my bet is that it won't be here for long. These instruments are among the very best value in American made traditional guitars. Their quality is unsurpassed, their playability is superb and they are priced very competitively compared to their distant Fender cousins. Come try one for yourself, we love them.

One of the most affordable, high quality archtop guitars around the 5th Ave Uptown is destined to set a new standard in this type of guitar. Loaded with tons of great features and constructed from beautiful Canadian Wild Cherry it not only looks awesome it delivers a whole host of wicked tones. The Uptown comes standard with 2 Godin humbuckers and a Bigsby Tremelo and is also available without the Flame Maple top in Black. This is definitely one of the nicest new guitars in our store.

When we talk about many Gibson products it is hard to say something new about instruments that have been around for as long as they have. The SG has been in production since the early 60's proving to be one of the worlds most versatile rock guitars. Gibson has reinvented the model in this less expensive and more bare bones version giving players of all income levels the opportunity to enjoy the SG experience. Built with all of the same time tested tone woods of the original and finished with genuine nitrocellulose, the Special Faded is an outstanding value.

One of my favourite finishes, Honey Burst. This is one of three new Les Paul Traditional's that have just arrived. Two of them have translucent finishes but the flames on the maple tops are really better then average. This one might be one of the best that I have ever seen in a production model. Beyond looking awesome, this model enjoys the chambered body for weight relief as well as the superb sound of the '57 Classic pickups. Truly one of the nicest guitars that we sell. We've had lots of Nash product over the years come through our store but for this particular guitar is beloved by our staff. Like all of the S57 models from Bill Nash, this guitar has specially designed Jason Lollar pick ups and is constructed from only the best parts available. It is finished in a slightly faded version of Fiesta Red. It is aged with what we would call light/medium relic treatment. Certainly aged but definitely not demo'd. Anyhow, it's awesome. We just finished and uploaded a Gear Review Video on this guitar.

Based on the ultra popular Les Paul Traditional, Gibson has released 400 pieces of this retro rock ready guitar. Like all Les Paul Traditionals, this guitar is chambered to provide additional tone and weight relief. As well, it comes with Gibson's famous 57 Classic and 57 Classic plus pick ups . What's not typical is the Bigsby tailpiece. The Bigsby B70 is at the heart of some incredible tone and versatility making this guitar suitable for a huge number of possible applications, not to mention that it looks awesome. We've already sold 3 of these beauty's and there are only 400 so they're gonna run out sooner then later. Come on in soon to check it out while it's still in our store, it's pretty fantastic.

Hot off the press, or literally out of the box is our newest G & L creation. A USA ASAT Classic finished in Candy Apple Red. This beauty has not been modified much from the standard specs, just enough to make it a bit more awesome and not so much to change its price much. We upgraded the pick guard with a cream colour switch up and we added Sperzel locking machine heads for super improved tuning and ease in string changing. These small changes combined with the ASAT's awesome list of standard specifications all add up to equal another incredible value from G & L priced at $1299 CDN + HST including its original HSC. On a personal note, I'm not the colour Red's biggest fan but this particular red is very deep while still staying true to being red ... if you know what I mean. In other words, I like it which in other words means it's a really nice red

With the addition of the Gibson franchise to our store, our custom G & L guitar orders took a very temporary back seat. However, as great as it has been to have all of those awesome USA Gibson's in, we have felt a bit unbalanced without a good selection of our favourite strats and teles. That's history now as a new batch of custom ordered USA G & L's have already shipped from California on their way to us. Here's what we have coming in... ASAT Classic in candy apple red with a rosewood neck and locking tuners. Another ASAT Classic Bluesboy in butterscotch blonde with a maple neck which we added the vintage tint to. A Legacy in 2 tone sunburst with locking tuners and a glossy, tinted maple neck. Lastly, we have a Legacy in vintage white with locking tuners. All of these creations have upgraded pick-guards as well as come with G & L's custom moulded case. They should all be awesome and are scheduled to arrive next week. Watch for an announcement.

G & L guitars have been a mainstay here at KAOS for the better part of the past 10 years. It's simple, we love these guitars. Their looks, their playability and most of all their quality. Maybe it's the fact that the company was founded by Leo Fender or maybe it's just because the guitars are such good value, either way we like them. We haven't had too many G & L guitars in the past few months but that is mainly because we just took on the Gibson line and we needed to buy a whole bunch of those fine guitars. Anyhow, we just ordered a bunch of new G & L guitars that should start arriving over the next few months. Anything from a standard Legacy to a beefed up ASAT Classic Blues Boy, they're on their way. Hard to write something intelligent about the Gibson SG, perhaps one of the most iconic guitars of all time. Introduced originally in 1961 the SG was pretty crazy looking for its time. Today we take its body design for granted as it has been played by a list of world famous players too big to even start naming. The SG is simply one of the best sound guitars ever built and a complete workhorse suitable for any player. Its light but super resonant solid mahogany body and neck and huge double cutaway provide players with unmatched access to the upper frets. Its meaty double humbucker setup provide legendary tone. It sounds too simple but this is just one of the best guitars you can buy, period. We've got them in stock now for you to check out or you can check out Lou playing one in our recent

Well, it's not like we have never seen a Gibson Les Paul Traditional in our store but this one is the first ever Les Paul that we have ever received as an authorized dealer. I'm sure the buzz might wear off a bit but for now, we're still pretty excited. The Les Paul Traditional will surely be one of our best sellers as its design is very similar to some of the original early year Les Paul's. Also, at slightly less money then a Les Paul Standard it represents great value. For those who prefer a lighter guitar, the Standard might suit them better as the Traditional is the real deal in terms of Les Paul weight. Just one of many new guitars on our wall but surely one of the nicest. Complete details are available from the

Among them are the Les Paul Traditional, a Les Paul Standard and a number of Les Paul Studios. Even though there are lots of variations on the Les Paul, they all deliver that unmistakable vintage tone. Thanks to legendary Gibson construction standards, classic tonewoods and genuine Gibson humbucking pick ups, there is no substitute for a Les Paul. Come in and try one for yourself.

We've been on the lookout for a long time for a great guitar in the $300 - $500 range. Well, after our recent trip to the Namm show we have found it in the Vintage product line. Designed in the UK and manufactured in Korea these guitars are not only awesome looking, they've got fantastic components as well. Most models have solid wood bodies, one piece necks as well as Wilkinson hardware and pick ups. All of this adds up to really great playing guitars and basses at really really competitive prices. So, for those looking to get a guitar in the "couple of steps up" range will really enjoy these instruments. We're really excited to have them in the store and are anxious for you guys to have a chance to try them out. Some models have already arrived and more are on the way in the next 3-4 weeks. I know that I say this every time about the Nash guitars but this is hands down, the nicest Les Paul that he has ever shipped to us. This is our 5th Gibson from our friend Bill Nash. Maybe it was this particular body or maybe he's still getting better at the process but this guitar is incredible. Not only is it beautiful, the aging on this one is a notch better then Bill Nash's usual mastery. As usual, these guitars sound and play incredible. Being a guitar store as we are, it's a normal occurrence for new guitars to arrive into the store. That said, it is always a special day when Nash product arrives. Could be that each and every Nash guitar is a custom, hand made creation and no one is ever the same. It's always a new experience. How will it feel? How will the pick ups that we chose sound? What will the aging look like? etc etc. It is really like Christmas morning for a guitar enthusiast. This time around was no exception. We just received 3 new pieces. The first is a S-57 Strat in Seafoam Green (pictured above). The next is a TC72 Tele Custom in Butterscotch Blonde. Finally, we received back our latest Gibson Les Paul. When we sent it down it was a brand new Les Paul Standard in Ice Tea. Now it is a 60 year old Honey Burst complete with new pick ups, redone frets and the best aging job yet. It's awesome. So, these guitars often sell quickly so if you'd like to see them and give them a try, make time to drop into the store soon.

Those with a good memory or just a really keen interest in the Gibson Les Paul's that we keep sending down to Washington to be aged to perfection will be happy to know that our most recent masterpiece is finished and on it's way back to us. If by chance you don't remember, we sent Bill Nash a brand new Les Paul Standard about a month ago . It has now been aged and is on its way back. The advanced information on it suggest that it will be finished as honey burst. The rest of the details are always a surprise as they don't send us photos. Nonetheless, one thing is always for sure regardless of how it looks. It will play and sound incredible, they always do. Stay tuned as we will announce when it finally arrives.

Finally, I found a Nash from their available stock that I liked and wanted to bring in. As most of you know, I'm a big fan of the Nash guitars. We have been a supporter of the relic master's work for a number of years now. As a merchant of his product I can either custom order a product from his catalog or I can hope to find something I like from his stray list that is presented to me about twice per week. Usually, I have been able to find almost anything that I wanted from the stray lists. This is much better for me as these guitars can be in my store in as little as 10 days. If I custom order something it would take up to 3 months. Lately, however I haven't seen anything that I've liked until now. I just bought the surf green strat and the natural tele custom. Both look amazing and should be in the store by the end of next week. Stay posted for their arrival notices.

It's a love/hate thing with our customers but enough of them love the idea. I'm referring to the process of taking a perfectly new Gibson Les Paul and sending it to our friend in Washington Bill Nash to have him make it look 40 some odd years old. The process is called aging and there are few people who can do it well. Bill Nash is definitely one of the masters. When he tackles a Les Paul, he must start with an authentic Gibson product. In our case, we always send him brand new pieces. He goes on to completely disassemble them, age them and put them back together as well as replaces the pick ups. In the end, you get a really authentically old looking guitar that plays and sounds way better then the original. Its lots of fun and we continue to sell these unique pieces. This one should be back in about 2-3 months. Watch for it. To view other relics that have come and gone from our store,

Based on the Gibson USA and Custom Shop guitars produced earlier this year, this guitar is a tribute to the Les Paul he created legendary album Appetite for Destruction with. This Epiphone guitar has many of the same features as those guitars but at a fraction of the price. Some fo the key features include..
- Slash D-shaped neck profile with long neck tenon
- Carved Hard Maple top with AAA Flame Maple veneer
- Seymour Duncan Slash Alnico II Pro Humbucker pickups
- LockTone Tune-o-matic Stopbar and Straplocks
- Bridge & Neck Tone controls with Sprague “Orange Drop” Capacitors
- Includes Custom Hard Case, hand-signed certificate and slash picks
With only 3000 pieces being produced worldwide, we were lucky enough to get hold of this one piece. Priced at around $1100 it won't last long. We are hoping to receive this shipment in the next few weeks, stay tuned.

Ah, finally.... Two new Godin RG-3 Passion electric guitars have arrived in our store. Wow, what can we say! We knew that these guitars would be nice but the in store (mostly staff so far) reviews are unanimous - The best single coil guitars any of them have played. No doubt the nicest electric guitar that we have ever had in our store and we couldn't be more proud to be one of the city's few dealers. Come in soon to try for yourself. At less then $2000 these guitar are not cheap but by comparison to many other "boutique" electric guitars, they offer very competitive value.

In the summer, the retail side of things gets slow so we don't get to order as many cool guitars. Well, school's back in and retail is heating back up. With that, this gem has just shipped from our friends at Nash Guitars in Washington. We should receive it within a week or so. I couldn't resist this one, its a T52 Tele with Lollar pick ups and a medium C neck. It's a unique relic level. I'm not sure whether to call it a medium relic or a heavy. The body is uniquely beat up (most of the reason I was attracted to it) but the neck is not as aged. In any case, it may be the coolest looking relic we have ever ordered and all of the Nash Guitars feel great and play beautifully. Watch out for this one sometime next week. We're always on the look out for a product that we feel is incredible but not being well represented in stores. Well, Godin has been making perhaps one of the best single coil guitars in the world for some time now but stores have been reluctant to carry it. Probably because it's price and the fact that it doesn't have a more synonymous name printed on the headstock. I can't be too hard on other stores, we haven't carried it either... until now that it. A few months ago, we (Lou, Jay and I) had an opportunity to speak with Robert Godin at the recent Miac show. This was a real pleasure mainly because Robert is a guy who obviously loves his work. His enthusiasm was infectious and his passion for his pet project the RG-3 was compelling. By the end of the conversation we had all but decided that we would get behind the RG-3 Passion guitar. In the next month or so we will receive two different RG-3's, one with the Mahogany top and the other with the Maple top. Watch for the announcement of their arrival .

The highly anticipated Godin Icon's have finally arrived in our store. Why such a big deal you ask? Well, first of all they are a formidable competitor to the Gibson Les Paul. Secondly, they are made by Godin in Canada which mean they possess legendary awesome quality. Thirdly, these guitars are less then half the cost of a similar Gibson.
Now, there have been a lot of comparisons between these guitars and Gibson Les Paul's for somewhat obvious reasons. They look very similar, they have somewhat similar pick up configurations and they are made from similar woods. They are also geared towards a similar sound. That said, these guitars take the traditional Gibson format to a new level with a number of very unique features.
The Type 2 Fat Black model comes with a Godin GHN1 neck humbucker and a Seymour Duncan '59 in the bridge position. The Type 2 Classic has same pick up set up. The Type 2 Convertible has 2 Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups with a 3 way switch and two mini switches. The Type 3 has three Lollar P90 single coil pickups and a 5 way switch. All models have the High-Definition Revoicer circuit which changes the tonal characteristic of each position. These various pick up configurations offer players tons of new tone possibilities.
All of the models are made from chambered solid mahogany with a carved mahogany top which produce that big fat sound. In a nutshell, these guitars sound awesome and I dare say a fair bit more versatile then their Gibson cousins. We're pretty excited about them and can't wait to start showing them off. We have 4 different models in stock now for you to give try.

Just in from a recent trade, this mint condition 3T Sunburst US made Fender Stratocaster. The body is in near perfect condition with no dings, just the odd scratch (very very minor). The neck is in great shape and the frets have very little wear. The pickguard further indicates little play as it has hardly any marks at all. All in all, looks great, sounds awesome and plays like you'd expect a high quality Fender to play like. Also comes with the original moulded hardshell Fender case. $899.

It's back, finally. The latest of our Gibson Les Paul's just arrived back from its trip to Washington to be aged by master 'make them look old' artist Bill Nash. It's hard to believe that only 2 months ago, this was a brand new Gibson Les Paul Traditional finished in black. Now, it's a 50's esq Gold top. Yesterday, I received word from my friends at
Nash Guitars that the Les Paul that I sent down to Washington weeks ago is now in the final stages of production and will be ready to send back shortly. There was a delay in the painting process of the guitar. It was decided that this guitar would be best suited to be refinished as a gold top. Problem was, there was a backorder on the gold paint needed. You may be thinking, how hard is it to get gold paint. I thought the same thing initially. However, apparently, this particular gold paint is quite specific and only available from a few sources so if you have to wait, you have to wait. Anyone who knows Bill Nash knows that the one thing he will not do is compromise when it comes to making his guitars look authentic. In any case, the paint is in so my brand new Gibson Les Paul Traditional will soon be back with us only as a '57 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top. Anticipation levels are pretty high over here at the store as the last Les Paul that we got (just a few weeks ago) sold in less then 3 hours. It is pictured on our
Nash page but we can tell you that it played and sounded as sweet as it looked. Stay posted for the arrival news.

Back a few weeks ago in my Blog I mentioned that I had sent a new Gibson Les Paul down to Washington to our friend Bill Nash to have it aged. Just a few days after sending it, my contact at Nash Guitars called to let me know that even though I had commissioned a new Les Paul Relic, they had just completed one of their own and I was in line to buy it. The result would be that I would end up with two Les Paul Relics instead of my intended one. To be honest, the decision wasn't that hard. I have always had really good luck selling these guitars so I agreed to purchase the second guitar. Well, it arrived a few days ago and was pretty much sold that same day. I was lucky to get a chance to get these pictures of it before it was picked up. The previous Les Paul Relics that we have purchased from Nash had been finished in a cherry burst. They were beautiful but somehow, this lemon drop finish was in our opinion a bit nicer. As always, these instruments play and sound incredible due to the Nash modifications. Luckily, the next one to arrive should be here in a week or two and will be finished as a '59 Gold Top. We can't wait. Check out the "
read more" section of this entry for more pictures and watch for news of the next one's arrival.

The long awaited and very eagerly anticipated Icon series from Godin has finally materialized. As you can tell by the body shape, Godin has taken direct aim at Gibson's Les Paul. However, like pretty much everything Godin, they have taken an existing standard and vastly improved upon it by utilizing superior manufacturing techniques and very 'player centric' thinking. So, lets get to the details...
There are 4 models to choose from, each with a specific player in mind. The first two models are the same under the hood but a bit different looking. The Icon Fat Black and the Icon Classic are both fitted with Godin's GHN1 pick up in the neck and a Seymour Duncan '59 in the bridge position. Both have a 5 way toggle and the famous Godin High-Definition Revoicer switch that significantly changes the sound of the pick ups giving you lots and lots of different tone possibilities. The Fat Black is well, all black and does not sport any pick up covers. The Classic is available in a dark natural finish as well as a burgundy finish. The Classic also has chrome pick up covers and cream pick up rings. The next model is the Icon Convertible. Available in either Natural or Sunburst it has two Seymour Duncan P-Rail Convertible pick ups, a 3 way toggle and 2 mini switches to switch between single coil, humbucker and P-90 mode on each of the pick ups. It also has the High Definition Revoicer built in. This model has cream pick up covers and black rings. The Convertible is super flexible due to its pick ups and the controls over them. The last model is the Icon Type 3. This model has 3 Jason Lollar P-90 pick ups, the High Definition Revoicer, a 5 way toggle, a volume and a tone. It is available in black, natural or burgundy. The combination of Lollar pick ups and the fact that there are 3 of them gives this guitar a very unique and exquisite sound.
So, there you have it. 4 new model, 8 color possibilities and 3 different pick up choices equals a whole line of guitars for players to choose from. These guitars would be easily suitable for a pro needing great flexibility right on down to an entry level player wanting a really great first guitar. Thing is, while this is not the least expensive guitar you could buy, it is less then half of the price of the guitars that it competes directly with. Add to that, these guitars are made exclusively in North America split between Godin's New Jersey plant and one of their Quebec facilities. Once again, Godin delivers top quality products at reasonable prices.
For more information check out the new ICON page at Godin. 03/05/10 15:45

What's special about a black Gibson Les Paul Tradional? Well, other then it's a really nice guitar, nothing really. Nothing that is until we send it down to Washington to be aged by the master of guitar relic's Bill Nash. In about 4 weeks this guitar will return looking like a 40 year old guitar but playing like a brand new guitar, better actually due to the improved pick ups that will have been installed. Bill Nash has been producing some of the worlds most sought after Fender type relics for years now but only recently has he been producing Gibson relics. There is a major difference between the Fender relics and the Gibson. The Fender relics are not actual Fender guitars to begin with. Bill Nash assembles the Fender type guitars using licensed parts from various sources and ages them to create the relic. In the case of a Gibson relic, Nash must begin with an actual Gibson Les Paul due to the lack of Gibson licensed parts available. This results in a more expensive but much higher quality and much much more valuable end result, a real, modern day Gibson Les Paul that looks like a 40 year old guitar. The other thing about the Gibson relic's is that Nash only makes a handful of these per year making them much more collectable then the Fender relic's.
Watch for the transformation pictures when this guitar returns to us 40 years older in about 4 weeks.

The Godin SD has long since been one of our most favorite guitars from the famed Canadian company. Recently, we had an opportunity to purchase a few more of these then normal and we jumped on it. With 3 new models just in and another 3 on their way our selection is excellent. The SD is a great "everything" guitar. It has the comfort and ease of a 24 3/4" neck but maintains a crisp sound thanks to its rock maple neck and crystal clear Godin pick ups. Its body has a diagonal radius carved into it for additional comfort. At under $500, this guitar has always been one of if not THE best value on the market in its price range. It's true, soon we will be back in the relic'd Les Paul business. As some of you will know, Bill Nash of NASH Guitars had previously taken some brand new Gibson Les Paul's and put them through a complete aging process including new electronics and pick ups. They were sold on a lottery basis and we had been fortunate enough to get two of them over the past 18 months. Both sold promptly. For those who got a chance to see and play these guitars all would agree that not only did they sound superior to an original Les Paul they looked awesome (as do all of Bill Nash's relics.) In past months, the elusive Bill Nash has been pretty tight lipped about when more of these creations would be available. However, just the other day he announced that he would begin taking orders for new Les Paul Relics. Now however, the dealer must submit a picture of one their own inventory that they would like Nash to perform the relic on. Once approved, we send our own Les Paul to Olympia, Washington to be treated and sent back.
This opens up some cool possibilities. Firstly, we now don't have to wait to be chosen to buy one, we can order one anytime. Also, we can submit used Les Paul's to be relic'd. As well, we can choose to a certain degree the finish based on the type of finish that we submit. All good, all around. Once finished, these relic'd Gibson Les Paul's usually sell for around $4000. Each is naturally 100% Gibson (except for the replaced DiMarizio pick ups) and completely custom made and 100% unique. Watch for our first one coming sometime in the next 30-60 days.

Back a few years ago, Godin released the original incarnation of the Kingpin. At first, the 5th Ave (as the non electric version is called) was an archtop reminiscent of a time gone by but with all of today's level of modern playability. Thanks to its modern design and manufacturing techniques, the 5th Ave produced incredible tone along with greater projection then any other traditional archtop. The result was a truly fantastic sounding and very affordable guitar that almost every guitar player could and would enjoy playing. Naturally, almost everyone wanted to plug it in which led to the second guitar in the line, the Kingpin. Godin added a neck position P90 pick up to the 5th Ave. As everyone predicted, the result was incredibly smooth tone. Taking it one step further, Godin recently released the Kingpin Cutaway which features a pair of P90's opening up an even greater range of tonal possibilities.
In stock now we have the 5th Ave as well as the Kingpin and the Kingpin Cutaway is slated to arrive any day now. Drop in to see for yourself why these guitars are so popular. For more detailed information from Godin

Not looking for another Strat or Les Paul? Well, Ibanez is one of the few companies that still produce a guitar of this era. The Jet King captures the look and sound of an era long since gone. However, they combine this vintage styling with state of the art hardware and electronics to produce a guitar that looks and feels old but performs like new. The Jet King's come in a variety of cool retro finishes and two different models, the JTK-30 and JTK-40. The JTK-30 has a traditional floating bridge and Ibanez HFS1 & HFS2 pick ups. The JTK-40 has an VBX60 vintage vibrato and ACH3 & ACH4 humbucker pick ups. Both models are made from Mahogany and have a 3 pc maple neck with medium frets.
Very cool looking and really great sounding, now in stock for you to check out. For more information check out the

Each year at this time we do a substantial sized Ibanez order. This year, we ordered a big selection of their famous Artcore series hollow body guitars. Available in many shapes and sizes, the majority of what we ordered and have started to receive are the AF series. The AF is the most traditional of the Artcore series. It is a full-hollow construction which means that there are no sound blocks in the body. The result, pure rich tones. Already received into stock are the AF75 TDG (pictured above) and the AF105 NT. Many more to come over the next few weeks. Stay tuned and for more information about Ibanez Artcore guitars

Finally, the Godin Session arrived in our store a few days ago. Eagerly awaited, we were not disappointed. The Session is the third guitar in this line and to date the most affordable at right around $500 depending on the finish. The Session is based on the award winning design of Godin's custom made Passion guitar. Although scaled down to fit into a price range, it shares many feature of its more advance sibling. Obviously it is shaped in the spirit of a Fender Stratocaster but this is where most of the similarities end. It is constructed from Canadian Basswood and has a rock maple neck available with either a rosewood or maple fingerboard. For pick ups it uses Godin GS-1 single coil and a specially made Godin humbucker in the bridge position which can be split into a single coil pick up via the push pull tone knob. With a vintage style tremelo and high ratio machine heads, this guitar is hands down the best value we have ever seen in this price range. You even get a deluxe Godin gig bag included in the price. We've got them in stock now for you to check out. For more information, check out our
video page or visit the
Godin website.

Our friends at Godin are on fire. Over the past two years they have introduced far more guitars then any other manufacturer out there. And... it's not just quantity, they have all been high quality and high value offerings. Their most recent is a continuation on a theme, the Session is a less expensive and slightly different version of the the recently introduced Progression. The Session is a Strat type guitar available in either a mat or high gloss finish with either a maple or rosewood fingerboard. Loaded with Godin pickups, 2 singles and a humbucker in the bridge position. This bridge pick up also has a coil tap for increased versatility. Superb sounding and feeling, sure to be another winning instrument for Godin. At less then $500 this guitar is undoubtably the new, best value in this price range. We should be receiving our shipment in the next few weeks, stay tuned.

Famous for his contribution to the unique sound of 'Alice in Chains', Jerry Cantrell has been playing G & L for years. Now, for a limited time and a limited number of guitars G & L has released the Rampage. Clearly a more aggressive guitar then G & L is famous for. Nonetheless, this guitar is loaded with amazing components. At well under $2000 this is a gem considering it is a signature series guitar and a very limited edition instrument.
