A FREE CONCERT FEATURING EXQUISITE PERFORMANCES ON EXQUISITE INSTRUMENTS

This first concert will be co hosted by our friends at the Kingsway Conservatory of Music. Our chamber performance will be performed by KCM’s founder Sharon Burlacoff and two of her esteemed colleagues Liza McLennan and Elyssa Lefurgey-Smith. We are also please to welcome KAOS instructor Tyson Kerr to the stage to entertain us with his unique style of contemporary jazz piano. Lastly, we are very excited to welcome Canadian Jazz great Heather Bambrick with her trio featuring KAOS alumni Michael McClennan on bass. The featured instrument for this concert will be the YAMAHA Avant Grand hybrid digital grand piano. This incredible instrument represents the marriage between a traditional acoustic grand piano and the most advanced digital technology available today. Yamaha has taken the actual keyboard action from one of its CF series concert grand pianos and utilized their proprietary fiber optics technology to integrate it into a digital instrument. This combined with the worlds finest digital piano samples and vibration technology has produced the worlds first digital instrument to truly deliver the playing experience of a real concert grand piano. All of this at a fraction of the price, weight and physical size of a real concert grand piano. Not necessarily intended to replace a real acoustic concert grand piano on stage, the Avant Grand makes excellent sense for people who want a concert grand playing experience in a small space, one that requires volume control or simply on a fraction of the budget of the real thing.
Concert attendees will be welcome to speak with Yamaha staff after the concert as well as get a chance to try the Avant Grand for themselves.
